Course Description

  • A highly demanding Dundee program, the MBChB Medicine is accredited by the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM)

  • Throughout the course, students learn about body systems, examining normal and abnormal function before exploring clinical cases, and anatomy by dissection

  • Expert academics and practitioners help students learn through traditional lectures, problem-based lectures, case-based lectures, and team-based lectures

  • Students have the opportunity to undertake ward-based placements, clinical placements, and Dundee Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (DLIC)

  • After graduation, students go into a 2-year foundation program and join the field as a junior doctor and later apply for further study and training in a medical specialism such as cardiology, gynecology, or emergency medicine, or go into general practice as a general practitioner (GP)

  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma: 37 points (minimum) including 6, 6, 6 at Higher Level, to include chemistry and another science (from biology, physics or mathematics) at Higher Level, plus three subjects at Standard Level with an average of grade 6, to include Biology at least to Standard Level 6
